Varanasi is probably one of the most ancient living cities in India. From time immemorial it has been a great religious center for Hindus and one of their most sacred places of pilgrimage, being visited by millions of people every year.

Witness Evening live Aarti Ceremony onbank of River Ganges

Later in the evening witness Aarti ceremony – The Aarti Ceremony can be defined to be a Hindu ritual in which light or fire, which is lit with the help of wicks, soaked in ghee or clarified butter is offered as a means of worship to the deities. Almost all the Hindu rituals of worship involve the ceremony of Aarti. Perhaps the earliest mention of the Ceremony of Aarti in India can be found in Rig Veda, which is considered to be the earliest scripture of Hinduism. According to the Rig Veda, the use of Aarti can be said to be derived from the Vedic concepts of elaborate sacrificial fires or Homa. The word Aarti can be itself said to be derived from a conjunction of the two words of “Aa”, meaning “towards”, and “Rati”, which in turn means “the highest love for God” in Sanskrit. Thus, the word Aarti in actuality means the “highest love for God.

The Indian state of Uttar Pradesh contains the city of Allahabad, which is now formally known as Prayagraj. Allahabad is well-known for Triveni Sangam, or the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, which is symbolic of everything spiritual and holy in Hinduism. The location is also well-known for hosting the world’s largest gathering, known as KUMBH MELA (one of the biggest festivals for Hindu devotees).

(Day Excursion): around 145 kilometers. Breakfast at the hotel is a 2.5-hour drive one way.

Start your day trip excursion to Chitrakoot at 0800 hours after breakfast. The districts of Satna in Madhya Pradesh and Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh are separated by the small town of Chitrakoot, which is located in the north Vindhyan range. The epic Ramayana and Hindu mythology both place a high value on it. Chitrakoot is revered by pilgrims because, according to legend, it was where Lord Rama, his wife Sita, and his brother Lakshmana spent eleven and a half of their fourteen years of exile.

The Ramayana states that Bharata, Ram’s brother, visited Ram in Chitrakoot and asked him to return to Ayodhya to rule the kingdom. Additionally, it is thought that the three main Hindu deities—Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva—took avatars here. This heavenly city is sometimes referred to as the “Hill of many wonders,” and the moniker is entirely appropriate. It is, in fact, a gift from the gods and nature.

Goswami Tulsidas, the author of “The Ramcharitmanas,” also lived in Chitrakoot for many years.

Chitrakoot is appropriately referred to as the Place of Many Wonders! Destinations in Chitrakoot.
